Our Team In 2005, while working on some cool short-range wireless
technology. Our office had a single spectrum analyzer shared
amongst a team of engineers. It was big, cumbersome, and expensive.
I was tired of having the spectrum analyzer cart in my cubicle, so
one night I starting hacking some firmware and software to create
the first Wi-Spy. Sure, it wasn't nearly as sophisticated as the
Agilent spectrum analyzer I had been using, but it was a lot
smaller and easier to use, which was pretty cool. I figured maybe
other people would think it was cool too... and the rest, as they
say, is history :-)
Today MetaGeek is a small tight-knit team of folks (mostly geeks)
that strives to create easy-to-use wireless troubleshooting tools.
- Ryan
Ryan Woodings, Chief Geek As MetaGeek has grown Ryan has worn a
variety of hats. These days he spends most of his time managing the
business (and sneaks some development time in too). To relieve his
stress Ryan enjoys running... a lot. When he's not training for a
half marathon he's training for a full marathon. In the summer Ryan
cruises to work on his Honda Shadow (65 mpg), mountain bikes in the
Boise foothills and attempts to jump with his wakeboard.
Brian Tuttle, Geek Herder Brian oversees R&D and handles the
firmware development. To ensure that he doesn't ever develop a
personal life, he also manages our hardware development. Most
importantly, he brews the coffee.
Adam Morgan, Code Ninja Adam's title says it all...
Brian Bandhauer, RF Geek Brian is the newest member of the MetaGeek
team and the first RF/Hardware geek. Brian is an expert at antenna
design and RF circuits.
Skay Woodings, Financial Stuff Skay pays the bills, writes the pay
checks, and takes care of the financial details so the geeks can
focus on what they do best.
Wen Olson, Ops
Wen is the one that keeps the wheels of commerce rolling around
here. She takes care of getting Wi-Spy built, packaged, and
shipped.
Trent Cutler, The Intern
If you've called or emailed with a support question you've probably
already met Trent. Along with tech support, he also does a lot of
the website development and all of the training videos.
Mark Jensen, Biz Dev
As Wi-Spy has taken off, MetaGeek hired Mark to help out with
business and marketing tasks. Although more familiar with
spreadsheets than with RF, Mark has taken to the geek lifestyle.
Rumor has it that he now enjoys tinkering with his friends' WLANs,
and finds great pleasure in defeating interference with his Wi-Spy.
Ben Bower, Intern #4 Ben works part-time at MetaGeek while studying
at C.S. at Boise State University. He pushes the limits of our
software to (hopefully) find the bugs before it gets shipped.
